Updated News about US Fugitive & Extradition
US Fugitive Recovery & Extradition is a Minnesota based bail investigation agency. When someone misses court, or "jumps bail", the bonding company contracts a recovery agent, or "bounty hunter" to locate, apprehend, and deliver the fugitive to the jail where they are wanted.
After delivery of the defendant, the bail company, in most cases, is able to petition the court and be released from that bond. Bounty hunters are responsible for the capture of thousands of wanted fugitives every year. Law enforcement may not have the resources to investigate individual cases, whereas the bail company and bounty hunter has a vested monetary interest in the fugitive. There are many laws that don't apply to bounty hunters, that do apply to law enforcement. The defendant waives certain rights when a warrant is issued, allowing bounty hunters to enter homes without warrants, and use other means of investigation to locate wanted individuals.
